New Leadership at Ridge Meadows Recycling Society

 Ridge Meadows Recycling Society is thrilled to announce the appointment of Alda Nicmans as our new Executive Director.

With over three decades of leadership in environmental stewardship, sustainability, and operational management, Alda brings a wealth of expertise to our team. Her proven track record includes expanding organizational reach, fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholders, and driving innovative solutions to complex challenges—skills that align seamlessly with our mission to advance sustainable practices and community impact in Maple Ridge. Alda’s ability to manage teams, spearhead strategic initiatives, and cultivate productive relationships will be instrumental as we continue to grow and innovate.

In the past, Alda has worked on Solid Waste and Zero Waste Plans for local governments and industry, has served on several community Boards of Directors including Chairing the Recycling Council of BC. Alda has served in leadership positions for the BC Product Stewardship Council, Tree Marking Paint Stewardship Association and the Electronics Stewardship Association of BC

Alda’s career is marked by her commitment to building bridges between organizations, government bodies, and communities, particularly in times of change. She has led organizational growth, facilitated critical communication networks, and developed educational programs that empower teams and partners alike. Her passion for mentoring and her hands-on approach to leadership—honed through years of managing diverse projects and speaking at national conferences—will inspire our staff and partners as we tackle new opportunities. A dedicated distance runner and community volunteer, Alda embodies the resilience and dedication we value at Ridge Meadows Recycling Society.
