Tour the Recycling Depot
Come tour the Maple Ridge Recycling Depot, located at 10092 – 236th Street and find out what happens to your recycling once it’s picked up off the curb!
For other times of the year, phone our Environmental Educator Daniel Mikolay at 604-603-0166 or fill out the form below to schedule a free recycling depot tour for your class or group. We give tours to ages preschool to adult!
Attire and Safety: Since parts of the tour will take place in a warehouse environment, there is a possibility of encountering broken glass or metal. Please ensure you and your party all wear close-toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops). Anyone who wears open-toed shoes will not be allowed on the tour. No exceptions. Also, please ensure that all children remain in close proximity to their caregiver(s), and that tour participants remain with the group at all times of the tour.
Parking: Please park your vehicle along River Road, close to 236th street. Do not park your vehicle in the Recycling Depot parking lot, as space is limited and is strictly reserved for residents dropping off their recycling. Please also do not park in front of bus stops, fire hydrants, train tracks, or gates. Finally, be careful when crossing the road! We are located in an industrial area where large trucks often travel.
If you are arriving by bicycle: We have secure bike parking at the Depot. Please bring your own lock and a staff member will direct you where you may park your bike.
Transit: A bus stop for the C48 bus is located just out front of the Recycling Depot, though please be advised that service on this bus route is very limited and that bus times do not always coincide with our depot tours. Visit https://tripplanning.translink.ca/ for more information, or to plan your trip if necessary.
Meeting Place: Please meet in the front lot of the Depot on the corner of River Road and 236th street and not in the main Recycling Depot lot. Signage reading “DEPOT TOUR MEET HERE” will direct you to the meeting place.
