SUMMER STUDENT JOB #1:

2 Process Worker/Swamper/Supported Work Assistant Positions Available

Ridge Meadows Recycling Society has two summer positions available for students scheduled to return to school in the fall. The job will start ASAP (term: 8 weeks).

Note: Two additional positions for students scheduled to return to school in the fall will start on Monday, July 5, 2021 and end on Friday, August 27, 2021 (term: 8 weeks).

All positions are full time, 35 hours/week, and pay $15.50/hour. Please send in your applications ASAP.

Tasks & Responsibilities may include:
-processing and sorting recyclable commodities
-monitoring the public drop off front line area and providing direction to the public
-general cleanup: ensuring the production area is clean and organized at all times
-picking up recycling boxes and bags at curbside and sorting into bins on the curbside truck
-delivering recycling boxes to residents
-all other duties as assigned

These activities will take place at the Maple Ridge Recycling Depot and within Maple Ridge. Applicants must be hard workers and willing to work outdoors in all types of weather. Send resume & cover letter via email to Leanne Koehn, Community Engagement, at leanne@rmrecycling.org

SUMMER STUDENT JOB #2:
2 Community Education & Special Event Assistant Positions Available

Ridge Meadows Recycling Society has two summer positions available for students returning to school in the fall.The job will start ASAP (term: 8 weeks).

Both positions are full time (35 hours/week), may involve flexible hours (including weekends), and pay $17.50/hour. Please send in your applications ASAP.

The Community Education & Special Event Assistant positions involve helping with educational and outreach activities for the Society. These activities will take place at the Maple Ridge Recycling Depot, online, and throughout the community.

Applicants must be comfortable interacting with the public online & in person, be skilled at written communication, and demonstrate diplomacy and sensitivity in dealing with the public. Team building skills, flexibility, adaptability, social media experience, organizational skills, self-starters, independence, an interest in environmental issues, and creativity are also assets. Opportunity to learn & develop event planning and management skills. Applicants should have a class 5 driver’s license, own vehicle is an asset.
