Easter Weekend – Curbside Recycling Pickup Schedule:
Reminder of our Easter Weekend Holiday Schedule – there will be NO CURBSIDE RECYCLING PICKUP on either Good Friday (April 14) or Easter Monday (April17). As per our new 2017 schedule, the Maple Ridge Recycling Depot will be OPEN on both Good Friday AND Easter Monday.
Along with Easter comes the set-out dates for the City of Maple Ridge’s Spring Brush Chipping Program. Set-out deadlines are Tuesday, April 18 for residents who live WEST of 224th Street and Monday, May 1 for residents living EAST of 224th Street. No pre-registration necessary, simply place branches at curbside by set-out deadlines for pickup & chipping. See www.rmrecycling.org for details regarding set-out. Please note the set-out dates are when brush chipping begins in each area, but it will take around two weeks to pick up all the piles in each area, depending on the amount that is set out.
This year, Ridge Meadows Recycling Society’s Annual General Meeting takes place at The Well Restaurant inside Chances Gaming Centre on Tuesday, April 4 starting at 6:30pm. Current and new members are welcome to join us for our business meeting followed by refreshments and mingling.
Also on Tuesday, April 4, the LAST (Life After School Transition) Committee is hosting a Transition Resource Fair at Thomas Haney Secondary School starting at 7pm. At the Fair, students with extra support needs, their families, and caregivers can meet representatives from different agencies and service providers to help plan the transition from high school to continuing education, employment, recreation, and beyond!
